About this deal

Jason Williamson's earthy, aggressive street-poetry fits the rumbling bass, skittering drum machine and skeletal samples/rhythms like a glove. There's no special claims made for the city; no grandly romantic nonsense about its worth vis-a-vis other UK cities.

It jumps out of the speakers and squares right up to your face, an eyebrow cocked, an acute feral intelligence in tow. If you're looking for a few reference points, then imagine a stripped-down cross between John Cooper Clarke (minus the literary), Mark E Smith (minus the stream-of-consciousness), the street-punk likes of Cock Sparrer and Oi! Combined with Andrew Fearn’s sparse and rhythmic basslines / beats, it forms a raw and exciting hypnotic cocktail. This is probably punk's last gasp before the UK music scene and its chancy small town think-they-ares finally disappear up their collective bumhole.Kotiinkuljetuksesta perimme rahulia 3,99€ pienemmistä lähetyksistä (lähinnä cd:t) ja isoimmista vermeistä eli vinyyleistä, huppareista yms 5,99€. Rather, it's soaked in the impossible realities of the everyday, and it reworks that into something truly astonishing. Inevitably, Sleaford Mods have gained comparisons with Nottingham's favourite anti-hero Arthur Seaton (indeed, Williamson has played Seaton in a Saturday Night Sunday Morning-inspired event and the video for new single 'Mr.

This track only has two different notes played on the bass guitar with a drum loop, but it is easily one of the catchiest and effective tracks you will hear. I feel like this has retrospectively been acclaimed as some kind of 'state of the nation' address by critics ever since divide and exit came out when really it's the same miserable ranting they'd been doing for years, but this time happened to come out in the middle of a recession. They also look to more current acts such as the Melvins, Sleep and Electric Wizard for inspiration, though singer, Harriet Bevan, still maintains a vocal style that evokes the haunting psychedelia of Grace Slick and psych-Satanist, Jinx Dawson from Coven: the woman responsible for the "sign of the horns" in rock'n'roll.Just after the release of Wank the duo were invited to play a three day festival curated by Nottingham's Rammel Club. As with all NHS releases the album package will be something very special, with some very special cover art.

A sparse bass line is joined by a cheap-sounding drum machine, introducing the brutalist instrumentation that the record never departs from. But then I gave it one more listen on the web, and one more and one more and then I did by the LP and never looked back since. They are aggressive but don't seem to take themselves too seriously, so all the tunes end up sounding extremly catchy, in a weird way.

You can argue that the one-dimensional approach to the production with the lack of any dynamics after 25 minutes could be the reason for these tracks falling flat, but they are certainly not as catchy and powerful as the earlier tracks. The music is quite basic, a drum machine, a bass guitar and a few frills, with Jason Williamson venting his spleen and getting a few things off his chest over the top. Born out of part frustration and part accident, it quickly found its feet as an aggressive verbal onslaught on all that is contrived and connected to the day-to-day hammer of low paid employment and domestic situations arising from that trap. Austerity Dogs’ is driven by post-punk basslines that loop consistently with rough cuts of drum clips, with the occasional synth melody to add a bit of texture to the tracks; these are all created by the other half of Sleaford Mods, Andrew Fearn. Sleaford Mods know this too: on 'Urine Mate', frontman Jason Williamson tells us about seeing one of Nottingham's better known alcoholics putting his bin out and "stinking of urine", whilst people from Mapperley Park (a fairly salubrious area) "point and laugh".

Sleaford Mods are untouchable, what I mean is there is no fucking, any fucking body, who comes any fucking where near to them.
