A Glasgow Kiss
About this deal
Several of my female friends have relayed tales of meeting blokes who think that the simple act of agreeing to go on a date is a contractual guarantee of sex.
Trust me, Sophie Gravia's well written book "A Glasgow Kiss" is not short in missing out vital details. It’s the ultimate in low-cost, sustainable book-reading and often sparks an interest among members in other authors. I was hooked on this book and read it in one day as I was dying to find out if Zara would meet the one! The girly brunches with best friend Ashley and sister Emily genuinely felt like every gossip session I've had with my mates, complete with stories of terrible dates, embarrassing moments, and lurid sex stories. With competition ramping up in Glasgow, Zara and her friends at Individualise can't pass up an opportunity to promote their aesthetics clinic - especially not when it involves an all-expenses-paid quick getaway to Dubai! For a book that is, objectively speaking, very poorly written, I was actually genuinely invested in the main character. I have not reviewed on goodreads or my Instagram account, as I don’t like to publish negative reviews (What I don’t love might be someone else’s favourite! A Glasgow Kiss, has featured in dissertations from students from The University of Glasgow, describing its prominent presence in Scottish literature, and how it has shone light on Scottish women and feminism throughout Glasgow. I strive to appear knowledgeable and seasoned about all of this and affect an insouciant man-of-the- world vibe that soon crumbles.
Sophie said: “This is something completely new and I’m super excited to be welcoming a wide range of guests to talk about sex, dating and life in Glasgow! Pal Heather Suttie, who hosted the launch party, said: “Sophie’s book has become a cult classic and What Happens in Dubai has already had hundreds of five star reviews, she’s a total star. The story was okay, but I did get a bit fed up of some of the stuff repeating throughout (why does she continually refer to her vagina as fishy? The fields of literature and journalism are lined with the soiled reputations of men who have tried to convey physical intimacy in print. She has almost completed her degree, living out a rented apartment owned by her Mother and vastly approaching thirty . Ultimately, though, the girl comes good with the perfect ending for her story—all she needed to be happy was her own confidence, and a man can't ever give you that!
