LIQUI MOLY PAG Air Conditioning Oil 46 | 250 ml | Compressor Oil | SKU: 4083
About this deal
Mineral oil: Mineral refrigerant oil, also known as Alkyl Benzene Oil, was the default option up until HFC refrigerants became common place.
PAG oil is hygroscopic which means it attracts moisture from within the air-conditioning circuit or atmosphere. The only time the Environment Agency gets jumpy is when anybody just cracks open any joints in the system. The most commonly used gas to recharge your air con system is R-1234yf refrigerant gas, and that’s exactly what we sell at Halfords.Controlling the internal temperature of your car can help improve visibility, for example if your windscreen fogs up.
Having a robust air conditioning system that can keep your car at the right temperature is absolutely crucial. Such duties and taxes are beyond our control as they are set by the Customs Authority of the destination country and depend on a number of factors, such as country of origin of the purchased product, local VAT rates and local import taxes, and it will be your responsibility to pay them if and when asked to by your local authorities. But do you know the difference between the various types of oil, and how and when they should be used? You do this as an oil molecule is larger than a 134a refrigerant molecule, so try not to let the shaft seal "dry out". When cleaning the vehicle, do not point the steam-jet cleaner directly onto parts of the air-conditioning system. To do this "by the book" the engineer will need an F Gas certificate, and if the refrigerant is not going to be reused, a waste certificate, and this will be required with any reclaimed oil. MRL-85 (POE) has been designed to effectively lubricate the moving parts of the refrigerant compressor and to help dissipate heat. If you hear humming sounds, smell a burning odor, or see smoke when you turn on the air conditioning in your vehicle, you may need to get your compressor oil changed. Unfortunately PAG is hygroscopic, meaning it attracts and retains moisture from within the A/C system or atmosphere. If your vehicle lacks compressor oil, there will be some telltale signs like humming sounds, refrigerant leaks, burning smells, and visible smoking.
To ensure compatibility with the many materials in these systems, it’s important to only ever use the right quality of oil, and in the right quantity. Although unapproved as an AC lubricant by manufacturers, ISO 68 grade PAO is often used in the mobile aftermarket as a “universal” compressor oil. PAG air conditioning oils must be collected separately and disposed of in accordance with the waste code (see safety data sheet).Always follow the compressor or vehicle manufacturer guidelines for the right selection of the lubricant for the AC compressor. Our experts can check that your air con is working properly, and help you resolve any issues quickly. Our ASE-certified mechanics can routinely check your car’s A/C compressor oil to make sure it gets changed when necessary. Providing high lubricity and chemical stability with system components, POE also offers good miscibility (the ability to mix with refrigerants and HFCS).
