About this deal

From physical pain, lost love, public humiliation and depression, Craig takes us past his comfort zone, in a raw, honest and courageous account of his own lived experience. Wrote a book on Monday, took it to the publisher on Tuesday, making sales by Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, he chilled on Sunday! But I feel privileged now – after a lot of interesting twists and turns along the way – to share my journey with you.

In 2005, Craig announced that he had signed with Warner Music and put together his third album, 'The Story Goes. Bad Boy Records CEO Sean Combs, after hearing his demo tape, reached out to Craig with interest in signing him as an artist.

In September 2016, he dropped his long-awaited comeback album 'Following My Intuition' and it was his first album to hit Number 1 since his debut 'Born To Do It'. This is Craig as we’ve never seen him before – the always-positive showman, baring his soul for the first time. I'm still learning, still making mistakes, but I feel ready now - after a lot of twists and turns along the way - to share my journey with you. Despite being well-known in the underground MC world in the 90s and writing songs for British group Damage, Craig David only got his big break in 1999 when he featured on the track 'Re-Rewind' by garage duo Artful Dodger.

On 30th September 2022, Craig released his eighth studio album, celebrating 22 years of his epic career! I don’t usually read autobiographies but having been a fan of Craig since he first released music in 2000 I wanted to read this one. This may result in small marks to the dustjacket and title page, please also bear in mind that each signature will be a little different from the one we show here.

Aged 18, he burst onto the scene with the garage classic 'Rewind' and, following the phenomenal success of his debut album Born To Do It, he has continued to top the charts over the past 22 years, amassing 17 million album sales and over 1 billion streams, to date. Thus, making him more at peace with himself while still being open to learning from experiences in the future. At the end of the day, it’s so easy for the trolls to make such comments; it’s not happening to them. Craig’s exposure to music came at an early age as his father was a bass player for the reggae band Ebony Rockers.

This year, Craig celebrates 22 years in the music industry, and he will be releasing his album titled '22' at the end of this month, the album will feature several songs he has already released including ' DNA' with Galantis, and 'Who You Are' with MNEK. to lean into mental health and depression and lack of boundaries, saying yes when you really meant no and being a people pleaser, impostor syndrome; so many things that were just a human-to-human connection that I felt if I spoke about that, that is something that can hopefully help people and that’s a book that’s worthwhile to make. On the day of the book's release, the singer posted a video on Instagram in which Craig could be seen at a branch of Waterstones for a book signing, showing the long queue of fans all waiting to get a signed copy.Craig burst onto the music scene in the late 90's working as a vocalist on Artful Dodger's 'Something' and 'What Ya Gonna Do'. I’m still learning, still making mistakes, but I feel ready now – after a lot of twists and turns along the way – to share my journey with you. Craig then signed another new record with Universal Motown and released sixth album 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered'.

However, I was not so much into the self help sections of the book because it feels like he takes normal everyday feelings and blows them into a life changing epiphany. also saw him team up with UK grime legend Kano for their collaboration 'This Is The Girl' that sampled Jay Z's song 'Big Pimpin'.It’s a series of lessons learned from a life lived, many of which I’ve only realised in retrospect – after all, it is only through living that we can learn and grow. From DJ gigs in Southampton nightclubs to chart-topping global fame, Craig David found overnight success as a teenager. As you read through the book, you’ll see how the titles of his songs are cleverly woven into his stories. He was famous as the artist who always had a smile on his face but things started to unravel for him personally and he had to deal with the negative feelings he'd kept hidden.
