About this deal

She's easily the most fleshed out character from all the three books so far, and I enjoyed her chapters immensely. Lucinda Riley was born in 1965 in Ireland, and after an early career as an actress in film, theatre and television, wrote her first book aged twenty-four.

Her youngest daughter Sonia would go on to become the great-grandmother of Camilla Parker-Bowles, the wife of Prince Charles. He has left each of them a clue to their true heritage, but Star – the most enigmatic of the sisters – is hesitant to step out of the safety of the close relationship she shares with her sister CeCe. Lucinda Riley was born in Northern Ireland, and after an early career as an actress in film, theatre and television, wrote her first book aged twenty-four.

This was the first of the Seven Sisters books where I liked the present day storyline just as much as the historical one. As for Flora, I loved her story, character and how Alice Keppel and her daughters were portrayed in this novel, now that's an interesting family! stoljeća u divnoj jezerskoj oblasti Engleske, ali i London tada, kao i u sadašnjosti, a obje priče podjednako interesantne i dirljive, sve to protkano ljubavlju prema knjigama. The Shadow Sister is the third book in the Seven Sisters series, and definitely my favourite so far.I am as fascinated now as I was at the beginning of book one and even more hungry than ever for the rest of this amazing tale! Why do you think the relationship between Violet Trefusis and Vita Sackville-West has been so notorious for over 90 years? Star, in the past, we haven't heard much from considering that her sister CeeCee is always speaking for her. Though I find it a bit of a stretch that after the experiences she’s had through the novel and how she seems to have grown stronger and more independent it takes her that long to decide she wants to be with someone she’s already had plenty of opportunity to get to know. When Flora and Archie fall in love, I feel like they could have ended up happily ever after with relative ease.

I loved seeing Star gain some confidence and step away from the loving but ultimately stifling relationship that she and CeCe had fallen into. In the entanglement of myths, it is said that Asterope either became the wife or the mother of Oenomaus, who was later the King of Pisa. The Shadow Sister moves through the varied landscape of England – from the mellow county of Kent – which as Star mentions, is also known as ‘The Garden of England’ – all the way to the northern Lake District, which is defined by its more rugged landscape. The favourites in my collection are my Penguin classics, and my leather-bound Brontes and Dickens special editions.
