Our end product differed significantly from the recipe’s photograph, with ours being a much more ‘wet’ curry.This is becoming a firm favourite, I often serve this with the oven roasted chicken tikka which is an amazing combination.
Baked in the oven, they are best served on a bed of sharp lime-pickled onions (see here), alongside some mint and yogurt chutney (see here). Like many other Recipe Books, there is an interesting narrative to this one, but the recipes are relatively easy to follow, with wonderful results. We didn't have access to ours (moving) so I had to use a masher and it was hard work and we still ended up with lots of whole peas in the mix. Meera Sodha is a home cook and an occasional chef at the Michelin-rated Indian restaurant Gymkhana in London.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, though -- we still enjoyed very much and I'll make it again when I want a variation from basic plain roast chicken. Next time I will go for a hotter chilli as I like my curries with a bit more heat to them but otherwise it's a really nice curry and I will definitely make it again.
