Instead of pushing up to a table, this type of chair comes with a tray and sits right on the floor. They can be small or closer to the size of a standard high chair but easily break down for travel. Since there are multiple variations of floor chairs, there are a lot of different uses for them. They’re especially good for outdoors where there may not be a standard table and/or chair to attach a travel seat to. While there are often high chairs available at cafes and hotels, they aren’t always age appropriate. My toddler is not a big fan of high chairs any more, as he feels he is more grown up now. We also find that some of the high chairs aren’t supportive enough for our daughter. At home I use 2 different seats to meet their different needs, and neither are very portable for flights. My two year old uses a booster seat at home as he isn’t always tall enough to reach the table. With our baby now eating solid foods, she needs a seat that gives lots of support as she is still not full stable sitting up.

Most of our prams and pushchairs include a manufacturer’s warranty. This means that for the time period of the warranty, if something goes wrong you are entitled to request a repair. All the comparable products below can be taken apart to get to the hard to reach places which often collect crumbs in corners or around the straps. The Nuby seat does not come apart so it makes it slightly less easy. However, it is still easier to clean on holiday than a fabric option where we did not have access to a washing machine as the material is water-resistant.
