About this deal

American actress Zimbalist plays lead character Anne Beddingfield (an Englishwoman in the book, by the way) as a kind of tough, adventurous and resourceful heroine in a nod to the Indiana Jones series, and is ably supported by Suzy Blair, played by McClanahan (who doesn't seem to mind playing her Golden Girls character, Blanche - Or maybe she was forced at gunpoint to do just that??). Dutton plays man-on-the-run Harry Lucas, a handsome Brit who possesses not only some important information, but a secret hankering for some down-and-dirty time with foxy Anne. Woodward has a ball (and I do mean a ball) playing crook Sir Eustace Pedler, and Tony Randall amuses as the fumbling, bumbling, and mumbling Pedler henchman/chameleon.

Agatha Christie has written a most entertaining story, excellently conceived and executed." — Morning Post. Facsimile of 1924 UK first edition (HarperCollins), November 5, 2007, Hardcover, 312 pp, ISBN 0-00-726518-2 It is really a hard life. Men will not be nice to you if you are not good-looking, and women will not be nice to you if you are.

A tourist visiting Cairo witnesses a murder and after that sees a man in a brown suit fleeing the scene. She boards a ship and assumes that one of her fellow passengers is the criminal and that they also plan to steal a cache of diamonds. However, all of her traveling companies appear to be potential suspects. [3] Cast [ edit ] Anne instead meets Chichester, alias Miss Pettigrew. She is led to Sir Eustace where Pedler forces Anne to write a note to Harry to lure him to his office. Harry turns up and Pedler is exultant until Anne pulls out a pistol and they capture Pedler. Race turns up with reinforcements but Sir Eustace escapes overnight. Race tells her that Harry is John Eardsley, not Harry Lucas. Harry admits that receiving a huge fortune worries him and that he has found his happiness with Anne, and they marry and live on the island in the Zambezi and have a son.

The opening credits should read 'LOOSELY' based on a wonderful Agatha Christie book - and we've completely changed everything but the characters. Facsimile of 1924 UK first edition (HarperCollins), 5 November 2007, Hardcover, 312 pp; ISBN 0-00-726518-2 This first book of the Colonel Race series, like that of the first book of the Tommy and Tuppence series, is a thriller than a mystery. It starts on a mystery note, then, scales on to a thriller. First and foremost, this is not a typical Christie book, at least not one I'm used to expecting of her. I've known her as the "queen of the mystery". :) But now, I know that she had written few thrillers in her earlier days, and I've read two of them including The Man in the Brown Suit. Her thrillers are fun reads. They are also fast-paced and adventurous. Personally, however, I prefer her mysteries. They are clever and intelligent. Also, Christie is in her best element when she writes mysteries. Anne and Suzanne examine the piece of paper Anne obtained in the Underground station and realises that it could refer to cabin 71, Suzanne's cabin, originally booked by a woman who did not appear. Anne connects finding the film roll in Mill House with a film canister containing uncut diamonds that was dropped into Suzanne's cabin in the early hours of the 22nd. They speculate that Harry Rayburn is the Man in the Brown Suit.Nadina has double-crossed the Colonel, however, keeping some De Beers diamonds from a crime years before. The friendships (and romance) At one point, in this book our protagonist, Anne Beddingfield, meets a new acquaintance, and their friendship slowly develops over time into true companionship. Also, for those who like a little romance, there is definitely some present. It felt a little 'cheesy' at times, but sometimes, a little extra cheese is what you need. Their relationship was, to put, a little casually, very cute, although maybe it was a bit too much at times (especially when Anne immediately fell in love, claiming she loves him and wants to spend her life with him, when she literally just let him a couple of minutes ago, but still, it was heartwarming). Almost a month later, Anne awakens in a hut on an island in the Zambezi with Harry Rayburn, who rescued her. He reveals that someone deliberately caused her to fall. Arthur Minks, alias the Rev. Edward Chichester alias Miss Pettigrew, alias Count Sergius Paulovitch - an agent of ' The Colonel'
