About this deal

It wasn’t so long ago that audiophiles and the hi–fi press wrote Klipsch off as nothing more than “sell-outs” and a “home theater” company. If you disagree, do some research online and look for any current high-end publication that heaped any degree of praise on their products for over a decade.

Also like the 600M, the new model has dual input terminals for Bi-wiring or Bi-amping, but the 600M II uses exposed wire jumpers instead of metal straps like the first model. I actually like the original design better, as it looked cleaner, but the new 5-way binding posts are easier to access, so that’s a plus. The sensitivity is 86dB @ 2.83v/1m, despite Klipsch rating this speaker at 94.5dB (using in-room, half-space conditions). With its 6.5 inch, copper-spun Cerametallic cone and larger cabinet, the RP-600M II speakers have a convincing way with bass. Given their size, the RP-600M II speakers reach deep down into the bass spectrum, for bass with oomph. As well as class-leading bass depth, the rigid cones deliver a tight and punchy bass that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Size of a speaker can sometimes become an important decision factor due to space constraints or in some cases purely for esthetic reasons. In this section, we are going to compare Klipsch RP-600M II's and Klipsch RP-600M's external dimensions. Klipsch RP-600M II has external dimensions of 402.0 x 204.0 x 332.0mm ( 15-13/16 x 8 x 13-1/16inch) whereas Klipsch RP-600M has external dimensions of 399.0 x 202.0 x 301.0mm ( 15.7 x 7.9 x 11.8inch) . At first glance –at least from the front –I doubt many would notice a difference between the original 600M and the 600M v2. The speaker is still a two-way, rear ported design featuring a one inch, vented titanium tweeter mated to a six and a half inch midrange driver. However, with version two, the tweeter sits inside a new, larger silicon Tractrix horn waveguide for greater dispersion. The cerametallic woofers also got an upgrade in the form of larger diameter voice coils and aluminum shorting rings, which (according to Klipsch) give the speaker better linearity throughout the bass, decreasing distortion while upping power handling resulting in improved speed and accuracy. These changes, along with the rear-facing tractrix port give the new 600M a reported frequency response of 44Hz to 25kHz which is unchanged from the previous model. The new 600M has an in room sensitivity of 94.5dB, which is a DECREASE compared to the original’s reported sensitivity of 96, though impedance is unchanged at 8 Ohms, meaning that like its predecessor, the new 600M isn’t going to be difficult to drive.A signature feature on the Reference Premiere series, Cerametallic™ woofers are exceptionally rigid and lightweight for minimal distortion and maximum efficiency. New aluminum shorting rings reduce distortion as well as increased power handling and the new motor structure improve transit response with more control with greater speed and accuracy. Horn loading maximises efficiency and increases detail while focusing high frequencies towards the listening area. Proprietary Tractrix® geometry provides the most efficient transfer of high frequency waves into the listening area. The phase plug and compressed moulded silicon face ensure smooth frequency response. When combined, the cleanest, most natural sound possible is created. The second generation increases horn size for a larger soundstage and enhanced directivity. LINEAR TRAVEL SUSPENSION (LTS) TITANIUM DIAPHRAGM TWEETER This Yamaha R-S202 Receiver has 40 preset FM/AM stations and a frequency response of 10Hz - 100kHz (0 plus/minus 0.5 dB / 0 plus/minus 3.0 dB). With an input sensitivity of 500 MV/47k ohms and speaker selector for two systems, the Yamaha R-S202 Receiver has an advanced circuitry design and is excellent for Klipsch RP-600M speakers. The Two channels of 100 W high-power output are provided by the R-S202BL, which matches RP-600M power specifications. So, with an R-S202BL receiver, you can drive the RP-600M speaker at loud volume levels without distortion. The vented tweeter housing reduces standing waves that create unwanted harmonics, resulting in enhanced detail and clarity in high frequency reproduction. Featuring audiophile-grade wire and easily accessible aluminium binding posts for any connection type. FURNITURE GRADE MATERIALS AND FINISHES

The room response must be averaged to recognize trends in the summation of direct and reflected signals at the microphone. The resulting curves must not be taken as a 1:1 representation of what is heard as loudness at different frequencies. The room response gives a picture of the steady state SPL, where sound generation and sound dissipation in the room have reached their equilibrium." -Linkwitz Working in conjunction with the woofer, the rear-mounted Tractrix port smooths the airflow for a clear and tuneful bottom end. Even the deepest notes are smoothly handled, with minimal distortion or turbulence.

The Denon PMA-600NE stereo integrated amplifier is one of Denon’s flagship products, featuring a wide range of features and performance that will make your music sound incredible and divide circuitry (disengage digital circuits). The Denon PMA-600NE has several features that set it apart from similar models, and you will get a multidimensional sound experience thanks to the amplifier’s HD audio decoding and support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X virtual surround sound formats. Here is another variant of Marantz, the PM7000N, which features a sleek design and powerful performance. This Marantz PM7000N has been praised by audio enthusiasts worldwide. There are four analog inputs, one analog output, one coaxial digital input, two optical digital inputs, and a USB-A input for easy connections. A range of speakers can be powered with the Marantz PM7000N amplifier, which features a versatile design. Our review of the original RP-600M was read more than 100,000 times so it is fair to say that both audiophiles and mainstream consumers have shifted their priorities somewhat.

Take Bob Dylan's Blonde On Blonde, for example. Brilliant album as it is, it's hardly a state-of-the-art recording even by mid-nineteen sixties standards. Dylan himself described it as “that thin, wild mercury sound”, yet the Klipsch presentation fleshes out the low end to give the overall sound more substance. Although the bass response is on the generous side, it doesn't have the effect of slowing down the action, making music ponderous. Instead, it provides a firm foundation for the explicitly voiced horn tweeter to articulate effectively. The binding posts have been updated with the plastic plate of the earlier version removed and the connectors are now mounted through the cabinet material itself which helps preserve the stiffness of the box. All data collected using Klippel’s Near-Field Scanner. The Near-Field-Scanner 3D (NFS) offers a fully automated acoustic measurement of direct sound radiated from the source under test. The radiated sound is determined in any desired distance and angle in the 3D space outside the scanning surface. Directivity, sound power, SPL response and many more key figures are obtained for any kind of loudspeaker and audio system in near field applications (e.g. studio monitors, mobile devices) as well as far field applications (e.g. professional audio systems). Utilizing a minimum of measurement points, a comprehensive data set is generated containing the loudspeaker’s high resolution, free field sound radiation in the near and far field. For a detailed explanation of how the NFS works and the science behind it, please watch the below discussion with designer Christian Bellmann: Semyon Bychkov’s newly released Mahler 1 with the Czech Philharmonic is a superb recording coupled to one of the best readings I’ve heard. The M2si and RP-600M II laid it all out in front of me in a huge soundstage. The music was expansive, explosive, stirring; goosebumps abounded. As with the best systems, analysis fell by the wayside as the music gripped me. As part of their Reference Premiere range, the RP-600M II speakers are finished in scratch resistant, premium grade ebony vinyl. Combined with the satin painted baffle and the eye-catching copper woofers, they stand out from the crowd. For a more discrete look, simply push on the magnetically attached speaker grilles.Measurements are provided in a format in accordance with the Standard Method of Measurement for In-Home Loudspeakers (ANSI/CTA-2034-A R-2020). For more information, please see this link. One of my favorite aspects of the new Klipsch was how it had so much more control down low than the original. This gave the new 600M an authority and weight the original speaker couldn’t match. The Wrap Up
