Fill with water to the level marked on the bag. Make sure the water is warm, and not too hot. You can use cold, but it won’t work quite as well, and you’ll need to wash for longer. This might not be a huge issue, but whenever you don’t have access to liquid detergents it would be a challenge to use it. A Scrubba weights about 5.0 oz and my 13L dry bag weights ~3.3 oz. How much water? There is a guide on the front of the wash bag that has a see through panel which can be used to gauge the amount of water to put in - clever eh!Apart from the performance, it also comes with some useful features that are not available in many other similar products. For instance, the size and weight of this wash bag make it incredibly portable. It’s a bit expensive. That said, the Scrubba is similar in price to a quality dry bag. Since dry bags need to be made of high quality materials and well made to avoid any leaks they can be expensive however the Scrubba is also engineered for washing clothes so the difference in price is minimal in our mind.
The amount of water necessary depends on how many clothes you have inside. Thankfully, there’s a useful guide on the front of the wash bag that can be used in conjunction with the see-through panel—Scrubba really has thought of everything.
From the review above, you can see that you can use any type of cleaning liquid to wash your clothes using the Scrubba. You start by filling the bag with soap, clothes, and water. Then, you roll it up, clip it, and deflate it. At this point, it is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT that you close the air vent after deflating. (Can you tell that we speak from experience here? You really don’t want to forget this step.) From there, you can scrub, rinse, and then hang your clothes up to dry. The only downside for us when you compare using the Scrubba to a washing machine is it leaves your clothes a little more wet. However, when you consider the price difference and also the fact you can buy a Scrubba wash and dry kit which makes drying even easier it’s a small downside really.
