About this deal

To integrate and summarize the experience of engaging in self-care activities as reported by individuals and /or their families.

Qualitative data were extracted from included studies using an adaptation of the standardized JBI Data Extraction Tool for Qualitative Evidence. That’s when it hit me: as much as I love my job and enjoy being a part of a fantastic Bullet Journal community – I need to think of myself and take some time for self-care. Starting a self-care routine is one of the best ways you can improve your physical and mental health and take better care of yourself on a daily basis.A self-care journal is a great tool to help you create a new habit of focusing on your own needs, no matter what life throws at you. We live in a world that’s often focused on productivity. So we tend to overcommit and prioritize achieving things in our lives over taking care of ourselves. Finally, if you’re choosing a self-care journal for mental health purposes, Dr. McElroy says it’s a good idea to avoid additional stress by purchasing an item that suits your budget. She explains that some people may feel pressure to buy an expensive journal. While this is fine for anyone who won’t experience stress from spending a few extra dollars on a higher-end journal, there’s no harm in keeping it simple and opting for an option that’s less expensive. I think the short answer is that we are not used to putting ourselves first and taking the time to do one thing to improve our emotional, physical or mental health.

It could be any activity that takes your mind away from all the stress and busy life. It is something you do that is only directly benefiting you, not others (though, we all know that when we feel better with ourselves we become better humans, better mothers, wives and daughter, better colleagues and workers….). Close your eyes and pay attention to your breath. Take three deep breaths. Make each one deeper than the previous one.Write about a person or experience that brings you joy and positivity. What do you appreciate about them, and how can you cultivate more of that feeling in your life? I can’t lie to myself, it won’t change anything. And, maybe by being honest, I’ll be able to find someplace for myself in my heart, maybe I’ll share some of my load or go easy on myself when it gets difficult.

Having things in your journal might help you to prioritize fun in your life. Just like you had to do to start doing a self care journal, you may have to schedule fun activities into your life. Moreover, as a self-employed person, I know that I’ll get only as much as I give, so basically, the more I work, the more money I make. And that’s incentive enough. Once I’ve done this, I begin to have a clearer vision of how I can approach my struggles and move forward. Keeping up with your journal If you find that journaling about your emotions can be heavy, pointing out what you’re grateful for can make this practice much lighter. This is also a great daily ritual because you get to realize how blessed your life is no matter what you’re going through. That means you might need to schedule it into your already busy schedule.Putting yourself in your schedule in this way may be outside of your comfort zone, but that will change over time as you spend time with this great habit.
