The book is peppered with examples of her past work, and perhaps my one complaint about this book is that I had hoped to read some new work. All the same, it was a joy to revisit some of my favourites and her greatest hits. The poems in the book are divided into four sections: hurting, loving, breaking, and healing. Each section explores a different aspect of the human experience and takes readers on a journey through the ups and downs of life. Kaur's words are raw and honest, and they have the power to stir up emotions and touch the hearts of her readers.

Readers' opinions about Healing Through Words by Rupi Kaur

She takes us beyond just reading her words. Now we have a chance to start being creative ourselves, and turning our experiences into words we might not otherwise be able to speak. Where do I begin, this book takes Rupi Kaur’s passion to another level and it gives you a chance to write your own experiences and feelings. She did this in such a clever way that in doing these writing exercises you channel healing. 💕 About the book itself, for me, it felt so much like the lives she had done during the pandemic. Her soft words and sensible exercises, made me write when i felt that i was only falling. Zadania w tej książce są przeróżne: jedne łatwiejsze, drugie trudniejsze - wymagające skupienia, czasu oraz cierpliwości.

Eventually you will come to understand that love heals everything, and love is all there is." - Gary Zukav Spoiler- I have not yet finished this book, but wanted to put my thoughts out there to hopefully inspire and help another reader/writer to explore this book. read through all the writing & journalling prompts here and this will be perfect for me to take along to my person-centred therapy sessions It covers a wide range of themes that are relevant and relatable to many people, such as trauma, loss, heartache, love, healing, and celebration of the self. In it, Rupi guides us gently through exercises that feel designed to be part self-help and part writer’s retreat. What I loved was how encouraging she was throughout. She really does make you feel like you, too, can be a poet. No small feat for those of us that are intimidated by writing anything personal let alone poetry. She affirms over and over that we all can be writers and gives us the tools to get there. I won’t lie to you; there are parts of this book that will be triggering for those with past traumas. Rupi asks us to confront the darkness in our pasts with bravery while at the same time making us feel like it’s okay and safe to do so. The overall effect is that she’s standing behind you, ready to give you a high five or a hug or perhaps just a cheeky wink from the corner of the room.Next, this book takes her poetry, her experiences, opinions and passion and gives you a chance to start documenting your own experiences and feelings. This is then channeled into healing. What’s not to love?
