About this deal
If you’re using the product for the first time, it’s usually best practice to test it on a small, out-of-sight area on the surface you want to clean. By installing a mechanical heat recovery ventilation unit, this will constantly bring in fresh air into your home, removing the moisture-laden air that contributes to the growth of mould.
After cleaning, apply an approved antifungal solution to the affected areas to prevent mould from regrowing. As soon as the humidity exceeds 60 per cent, you need to act, see our fighting off section (anchor text) to see what to do. Use a cleaning product that has a small amount of bleach in it and clean all the window frame to kill the spores.
However, I don't want to be indulging in OCD behaviour (changing and washing my clothes/showering) - if it is abnormal behaviour.
Thanks so much for all the replies - haven't built up the courage to tackle it yet - but have set myself a deadline to have it done some time before tomorrow lunchtime - all your responses will help enormously with preparing myself to do it (I know that sounds ridiculous - my head is so annoying) and I know I'll be able to tackle it and work through the anxiety.
Removing it yourself may result in you coming into contact with toxins during the process - which again, can be seriously damaging. On top of that, it’s also made in Britain, meaning it has a smaller carbon footprint than other cleaning products. Most mould and mildew removers follow the same basic step-by-step process but be sure to consult a product’s packaging before use.
